Our Republic Day

Republic Day commemorates the date on which the Constitution of India came into force replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India on 26 January 1950. 
While India's Independence Day on 15 th August,celebrates its freedom from British Rule, the Republic Day celebrates the coming into force of its constitution.
The 26th of January was chosen as a Republic Day to honour the memory of the declaration of independence of 1930 during our Freedom Struggle.The Purna Swaraj declaration, or Declaration of the Independence of India was promulgated by the Indian National Congress on January 26, 1930, resolving the Congress and Indian nationalists to fight for Purna Swaraj, or complete self-rule independent of the British Empire.  
     India Post Issued a set of Four Stamps during the Inauguration of our constitution on 26 January 1950.

STAMPS ON HINDU GODS BY THAILAND POST

THAILAND post issued a set of four stamps with miniature on our Hindu Gods Ganesh,Bramha,Vishnu and Siva on 2- 6 -2009 Ganesha , which is another name for Vinayaka, means the "God who has power over obstacles".
