CHILDREN'S DAY - 2010

India Post released a set of 4 stamps and a beautiful Miniature Sheet on 14th November 2010 on the occasion of Children's Day.
The birth anniversary of Sri Jawahar Lal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister has celebrated all over the country every year as Children’s Day. As is known, he had an extreme love for children. Nehru worked passionately for the welfare of children and youngsters soon after independence. He was keen about welfare, education, and development of children in India. He was fond of children and thus became popular as "Chacha Nehru" (Uncle Nehru) among his little admirers. India Post issues special stamps every year on this special day.

STAMPS ON HINDU GODS BY THAILAND POST

THAILAND post issued a set of four stamps with miniature on our Hindu Gods Ganesh,Bramha,Vishnu and Siva on 2- 6 -2009 Ganesha , which is another name for Vinayaka, means the "God who has power over obstacles". A son of Shiva and Uma, he has the face of an elephant and he was blessed by his father so as to have the power to dispel all obstacles. Offerings must be made to Ganesha before any other gods.
