On completion of 25 years of Consumer Protection Act -1986 ,India Post released a postal stamp on 29th November 2012
Consumer Protection Act of 1986 is an Indian federation law enacted in 1986 to protect interests of consumers in India. It makes provision for the establishment of consumer councils and other authorities for the settlement of consumers disputes and for matters connected therewith.

సమాజంలో వినిమయం చేయబడే వస్తువుల లేదా సేవలను పొందే వ్యక్తి లేదా వ్యక్తుల హక్కుల పరిరక్షణ కోసం కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం వినియోగదారుల రక్షణ చట్టం (Consumer Protection Act) ను 1986 లోరూపొందించ బడినది.దీని ప్రకారం ఒక వినియోగదారుడు కొన్న వస్తువు యొక్క నాణ్యత నిర్దేశించబడిన శ్రేణి కంటే తక్కువగా ఉండే దానివలన కలిగే ఆర్ధిక మరియు ఇతర నష్టాలను ఆ వస్తువును తయారుచేసిన సంస్థ భరించాల్సి వుంటుంది. దీనికి సంబందించిన తగాదాల పరిష్కారం కొరకు కేంద్ర ,రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాలు ప్రత్యేక న్యాయ సంస్థలను ఏర్పరిచి వినియోగదారుల హక్కులను కాపాడుతుంది. ఈ చట్టం చేసి 25 సంవత్సరాలు అయిన సందర్బంగా మన తపాల శాఖ వారు ఒక ప్రత్యేక తపాల బిళ్ళను 29-11-2012 న విడుదల చేసింది.
